THE BODYGUARD PART 16

Chapter 16 - Rain Check

16. RAIN CHECK

The Next Day - 11P.M.
Aiden hasn't left his house since being released from the hospital.
Instead, he's been holed up in his mansion enjoying his time with Julian McAndrew - the only person that he felt truly understood him and all that he's going through at the moment.

The two of them were almost inseparable.

Nevertheless, with Julian by his side, Aiden was an untroubled, happy-go-lucky man. He couldn't remember the last time that he felt so at peace with himself. He couldn't remember the last time that he felt this happy. And little did his bodyguard know, Julian played a huge part in turning Aiden around for the better.

Being admitted to the hospital for alcohol poisoning was probably the best thing that could have ever happened to Aiden. Life had been slapping him in the face trying to get his attention all this time but he just wouldn't listen. Life had been trying to tell him that it was time to grow the fuck up, and finally, after having a near death experience, he received the message loud and clear.

"I don't think your family would like me very much." Aiden smiled at Julian while his fingers drew patterns along his sculpted face as his head rested in Aiden's lap. The two were cuddled up on the couch downstairs watching a movie that neither was paying much attention to.

"I know your mother will be an issue with her beliefs and whatnot, but I think I could win over your sister," Aiden said. "I don't know about your dad, though. Dad's tend to hate me due to my reputation and...well, now that I think about it, your sister will probably hate me, too. Shit! I don't stand a chance with either of them do I?"

"Actually, I think you three would get along just fine. My dad is an opened minded person, as is my sister. They'd welcome you with open arms if they knew that I was serious about you, which I am," Julian yawned. "You're putting me to sleep with whatever it is you're doing with my hair."

"Do you want to call it a night and head upstairs for bed?" Aiden asked, laughing softly at his own question. It was funny because, with women, he'd never been this gentlemanly. "You're such a weak link. I thought you could hang. It's only eleven o'clock!"

Julian's eyes were shut when he muttered something about wanting to finish the movie that was already coming to an end. The two of them had gotten lost in their conversation and the TV ended up watching them.
"Jules, the movie is over," Aiden chuckled. "I don't think you can sit through another one. C'mon, let's go to bed."

Julian groggily stood from the couch and stretched out his limbs. "Are we sleeping in your room tonight or mine? Your bed is so much softer..." When he eventually opened his eyes, he caught Aiden staring at him with a devilish smirk on his face. "What's that look for?"

"Nothing, just admiring the view," Aiden replied as his eyes scanned Julian's body from head to toe. He still couldn't figure out how or why he was suddenly so damn attracted to this man. "It's a mighty fine view, might I add."

"You're such a cornball." Julian playfully rolled his eyes as the two of them made their way upstairs to Aiden's bedroom. Before they entered, Julian paused at the door. "Listen, I have to get this off my chest, okay? I wasn't going to say anything, but it's kind of been bothering me."

"What is it?" Aiden asked.
"Well, first off, you haven't left this house since your accident. You haven't even stepped outside to...I don't know, smell the flowers," Julian sighed, wondering if he should go on. "It's been days, Grayson. This is isn't healthy. You haven't been to work. Not to mention the fact that you won't take any calls from anyone. When's the last time that you even turned on your phone? Who's running your company? And before you say anything, I've been enjoying our time together, but I can't help but feel like you're hiding—"

"From what? From who?" Aiden asked, growing defensive, letting go of Julian's hand. "I thought we already talked about this. I'm not ready to come out to anyone. And you said you wouldn't push me. You said you'd be patient. I thought you understood where I was coming from."

"I'm not talking about you coming out to anyone, idiot," Julian muttered. "What I'm trying to say is... I don't know, it just looks like the accident took a lot out of you. And that's understandable being that you sort of almost died, but I don't want you to shut down on me, Grayson. I feel like you haven't quite bounced back from it yet. You're hiding in this house and it isn't you. Am I making
any sense right now?"

Aiden nodded, shrugging his shoulders. "Yeah, I guess."

"I just think that we need to get out of this damn house and get some fresh air," Julian said, touching Aiden on the shoulder. "Plus, not counting the accident, I kind of feel like I've broken you or something. Ever since we became a thing, you haven't really been the same. You weren't like this when I first got here. You were—"

"Wild, crazy, and out of control. I was a mess and filled with rage. I was lost." Aiden stepped closer to Julian and slid a finger underneath his chin, forcing Julian to look at him and not the ground. "You didn't break me, Julian. If anything, you fixed me." Aiden smiled. Julian blushed. "And that's me being real."

Aiden's words went straight to Julian's heart; the same heart that he's been trying so desperately to protect.

"I know that I tell you all the time that I know what you're going through as far as struggling to fully accept yourself for who you are goes, but I need you to know that this is a lot for me to deal with, too," Julian admitted. "This isn't like me, Grayson. I don't hook up with my employers! I've broken so many rules with you and... I'm ashamed of myself."

Aiden felt guilty and selfish for only just now seeing how all this had affected Julian.

"I guess we are moving kind of fast. And I've probably been acting a little too clingy towards you, too. For that, I apologize," Aiden replied. "You've just created a lot of firsts for me, you know? I like you a lot and I want more of you, as much as I can get...but if ever you need some space apart just tell me and I'll back off. I need you to promise me that whenever things start to become too much for you to handle, you'll let me know. I don't want you to ever feel like you're suffocating around me."
"I'll let you know when I start to feel overwhelmed," Julian whispered. "I promise."

"And if you want to go out, that's fine. Despite what Thomas said, you're not obligated to stay here with me. I'm a big boy, Julian. I can look after myself." Aiden smirked after Julian gave him a disapproving look.

"Anyway, I'm not ready to go back to reality just yet. Kyle knows how to handle the company when I'm gone. He's been doing it for years, so I'm not worried about that and you shouldn't be either."

The two of them remained quiet for a few moments, just staring at each other in the doorway as both of them tried to collect their scattered thoughts.

"On another note, since we're being open with our feelings and shit, I thought I'd let you know now that I plan on firing Clayton," Aiden said nonchalantly. "I see the way that you two eye each other. I'm not stupid, but I am territorial and I don't like to share."

"Don't you think that you're being just a little rash here?" Julian smirked, feeling flattered. "We're not exclusive, Grayson. We're not boyfriend and boyfriend. We're just two people having fun, right?" Julian was speaking some truth but the scowl on Aiden's face let him know that he didn't like what he was hearing. "Or at least that's the impression I've been under."

"Whatever. I'm still firing him," Aiden muttered.

"Your jealousy, for whatever reason, is such a turn on." Julian wrapped his arms around Aiden's waist and walked him back into his room.

"Usually, it's a turn off for me, but with you I find it to be ridiculously hot." Julian shut the door with his foot and then spun around, pinning Aiden to his bedroom door. "I'm not sleepy anymore, what about you?"

"I never was." Aiden leaned forward to kiss Julian but they were interrupted by a knock at the door. "Who in the hell..."

Aiden turned around and flung open the door to see his other bodyguard, Clayton Benton, looking back at him with a startled expression on his face.

"Speak of the fucking devil..." Aiden sighed. Julian snickered from behind the door. "What do you want from me, Benton? It's late."

"Kyle called me about an hour ago, sir. He's been trying to reach you all day, but you won't answer your phone. He wanted me to meet him at the office and gave me this to give to you." Clayton pulled a wrinkled letter from his back pocket and handed it to Aiden. "Kyle believes Clarissa is still at it. I also got word not too long ago that her house caught fire."
She knows that we're on to her, Julian thought.

"Thanks, Benton." Aiden slammed the door in his face and then looked at Julian with a dejected expression.

"I guess play time is over."

"We need to call Price. It's been days since we've heard anything from him. Surely the bastard has uncovered something by now,"

Julian said. It was like a light switch being turned on as he went into work mode. He slid past Aiden to go out of the door but paused to look back at him and say, "Rain check?"

"Yeah, rain check," Aiden replied, feeling annoyed that his night was taking a turn for the worse. "You just won't leave me alone, will you?

Crazy bitch," he said while staring at the dirty envelope in his hands, not wanting to open and read it. "Fine, let's get this over with."

a/n: and so the drama continues...

THE BODYGUARD PART 11

Chapter 11 - Dark Places by CameoLover93 W R I T T E N BY C A M E O L O V E R 93 11. DARK PLACES Days Later It was crazy how one innocent kiss had somehow managed to change Julian's entire outlook on his brooding, constant mood swinging, yet overall alluring boss. A hell of a lot had changed since Julian first arrived at Aiden's house, saying the least. Only but a few days ago, Julian could barely tolerate Aiden; however, right now, given everything that's happened between them and whether or not that had all been a colossal mistake, Julian couldn't help but see Aiden in a different light. And as much as Julian would rather not be crushing on his currently unattainable boss that's secretly having a sexual identity crisis, Julian was only human at the end of the day. He couldn't help how he felt inside nor could Aiden, who'd been busy trying to drink his problems away rather than talk them out like a rational adult. "Terrance Price, the pr...

I don't know what came over me," Aiden whispered. "It's fine. I've been over it," Julian muttered, hugging Aiden from behind. They were half-awake and still in Julian's bedroom, neither of them in a rush to get up and get ready for the new day. "Everything that Price told me kind of shook of me up. And then having to see all those pictures of that crazy bitch to learning more about the baby, it all just..." Aiden sighed, not wanting to reflect back on what all he uncovered yesterday. "It all got to me. And on top of that, none of what Price uncovered explains why she's after to me. It's almost like we're back to square one." "I wish I could take your pain and frustrations away. I hate seeing you...

Chapter 14 - Have Patience by CameoLover93 W R I T T E N BY C A M E O L O VE R 93 14. Have Patience 24 Hours Later "You'll have to be patient with me. I'm new to all this, so I don't really know how this works, but I know what I feel and I know what I want; I've known it since we first kissed, but I was too scared to admit it to myself at the time..." Aiden looked over at Julian in the driver's seat, quietly admiring his features while he drove them home from the hospital. Julian was listening to every word that Aiden had said, but visually, he seemed to be in another zone. It was late and both men were tired, but for whatever reason, it was now for when Aiden had finally decided to tell Julian how he'd been feeling ever since the first day that he laid his eyes on him. It was now or never for Aiden to tell Julian the truth about he felt. And damn if this wasn't one of the hardest things that he's ever had to do in his entire ...
